Example: If your monthly expenses are $900, you need to make at least $900 before you have earned a single dollar for yourself.

This number is important because it gives you a clear target. Instead of guessing whether you had a good month, you will know. Did you hit your break-even point? Did you go past it? By how much?

Your revenue per client is the average amount of money one client brings into your business per visit.

To find it, take your total monthly revenue and divide it by the total number of clients you saw that month.

Example: If you made $2,400 this month and saw 30 clients, your revenue per client is $80.

Now ask yourself — is that number working for your business?

If your break-even point is $900 and your revenue per client is $80, you need at least 12 clients just to cover your costs. Every client after that is where your profit begins.

This number also helps you think about your pricing differently. A small price increase across your services can significantly raise your revenue per client — which means you could see fewer clients, work fewer hours, and actually make more money.
